2026 Exchanges

Application deadlines may change from those advertised in previous years and some partner universities have early application deadlines. Check here regularly to get the most up to date information about deadlines.聽

The deadlines for applying are:

• Exchanges in Semester 1 2026:聽31 May 2025
• Exchanges in Semester 2 2026:聽1 September聽2025

Early application deadlines apply to the following partner universities:

• University of California and University of Washington: there is only one application round/deadline,聽31 May聽2025 for exchanges to California or聽 Washington commencing in Semester 1 2026 for a one semester or one year exchange and Semester 2 2026 for a one year exchange. 聽Please apply聽before 31 May聽2025. Note that it is not possible to undertake a one semester exchange at California or Washington commencing in Semester 2 (UC time).聽
  You are required to make an appointment and discuss your plan with the International Mobility team (ucmobility@canterbury.ac.nz) before you submit your exchange application.
• Waseda University, Bunkyo University and Kwansei Gakuin University:聽There is聽one聽application round only. Please apply聽before 31 May聽2025 for an exchange in Semester 1 or Semester 2 2026.聽It is not possible to commence an exchange in Semester 2 2026 at Waseda University and Bunkyo University.聽
• University of British Columbia (UBC):聽The application deadline for an exchange to UBC in Semester 1 2026 (UBC's Term 2, January intake) is聽1 February 2025 .聽 If you wish to go to UBC in Semester 2 2026, you must apply before 1 September 2025.
• Queen's University (Arts and Science):聽The application deadline for an Arts or Science exchange to Queen's University in UC's Semester 1 2026 is聽1 February 2025. 聽Applications for the Engineering exchange programme at Queen's for UC's Semester 1 and Semester 2聽2026 close on 31 May聽2025 and聽1 September 2025 respectively.
• University of Nottingham:聽Due to the application timeframes of Nottingham, it is not possible to study English or Physics in Nottingham's Spring semester.
• Pompeu Fabra University -聽there is only one application round/deadline,聽31 May聽2025 for exchanges to Pompeu Fabra commencing in聽Semester 1 2026 for a聽one semester or one year exchange听补苍诲听Semester 2 2026 for a one year exchange. 聽Please apply聽before 31 May聽2025. Note that it is not possible to undertake a one semester exchange at Pompeu Fabra commencing in Semester 2 (UC time).聽
